Description

A wonderful rich red drapery frames a vase, glass candle and metallic candleholder in this representational still life oil painting capturing reflections. Framed in a lovely, complementary silver, wooden frame that continues the theme of shiny, reflective surfaces.

I really wanted to challenge myself by setting up a still life with lots of reflective surfaces, glass and textures and this did not disappoint! Some parts were such a battle but I am so pleased with the end result. The vase is now one of my favourites to paint and you’ll spot it in quite a few of my recent works.

Painting is 25.5 x 35.5cm (HxW) on canvas board.
