Description
A colour study of a dark red/pink coloured rose using oil paints on paper. This oil painting sketch was an important preliminary painting for my Two Rose in a Vase work. It is a challenge to capture intense saturated colours that are actually quite dark in value and I wanted to discover the best way to approach colour mixing before moving on to the final painting on canvas.
Artwork is approximately 20 x 16cm (HxW) on oil paper (25x19cm).
This is one of my ‘Works on Paper’ collection and is sold without a frame. Signed on the back by the Artist.
